Job summary

Generac is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer, Home Standby Systems Engineering, to serve as a senior systems integrator. You will bring mechanical, electronic, and embedded firmware work together into a complete Home Standby product while partnering with radio, controller, engine, and manufacturing teams to define interfaces and verify system-level requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires a broad systems engineering skillset across mechanical, electrical, and embedded software domains.
• Experience integrating subsystems and leading cross-functional reviews.
• Familiarity with V-model development and requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Acts as systems integrator for Home Standby products, combining subsystems into a complete product.
• Collaborates with radio, controller, engine, manufacturing, and applications teams to define interfaces and fix integration issues.
• Captures, documents, communicates, and maintains system-level requirements for programs.
• Uses Codebeamer for requirements management and traceability.
• Defines verification and validation strategies; ensures plans and results meet requirements.
• Develops system architecture, block/boundary diagrams, inputs/outputs, and Interface Control Documents.
• Leads design reviews, integration reviews, and cross-functional decision making across product lifecycle.
• Applies DFMEA and DVP&R to identify risks and define controls; tracks mitigations.
• Reviews CAD models to understand interfaces and packaging; communicates constraints.
