Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Chandler, AZ site seeks a Systems Engineer Level 5 to lead Ground Test IPT activities for hypersonic kill vehicle systems. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, oversee test planning, hardware integration, and Navy/DoD tests, while coordinating with internal PMO and external partners.

The role requires a strong technical leader with DoD systems engineering experience, US citizenship, and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, master’s with 10 years, or Ph.D. with 8 years (additional 4 years may substitute for degree).
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance required.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing complex programs.
• Familiarity with DoD systems engineering and ground test environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional Ground Test IPT team to meet schedule, cost, and performance objectives.
• Serve as primary technical interface with internal and external stakeholders, including U.S. and international partners.
• Plan ground test campaigns, oversee design, integration, and testing of test assets.
• Balance multi-discipline trade‑offs across mechanical, electrical, software, and propulsion domains.
• Provide communications for program reviews, risk management, and customer updates.
