Job summary

Revolutional seeks a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise infrastructure for the Dept of State in Washington, DC. You will be hands-on with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization, emphasizing automation and cloud adoption.

The role requires deep troubleshooting skills, on-site work, and adherence to federal security standards. You will collaborate with teams to advance PKI, IAM, and cloud integration initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret with SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of server administration.
• Proficiency in PowerShell for complex administration, reporting, and automation.
• Extensive experience with virtualization platforms (ESXi, Hyper-V, or KVM), including Horizon Remote Assistance.
• Experience with VDI deployments.
• Hands-on experience with SolarWinds for enterprise IT infrastructure monitoring.
• Experience with Active Directory in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own Windows Server/Active Directory Services across production enclaves, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Design, implement, and manage enterprise virtualization platforms, primarily VMware ESXi.
• Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and maintenance using PowerShell and Python (IaC).
• Architect, deploy, and manage PKI solutions and certificate/TLS lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues including networking, identity, and app integration.
• Document runbooks, SOPs, and change procedures; participate in change windows and on-call rotation.
• Contribute to cloud strategy and migration efforts for AWS and/or Azure integration.
• Ensure systems meet security requirements (STIG/RMF/NIST) in federal/classified environments.
