Primetals Technologies USA, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – Driver Engineer in Alpharetta, GA to develop and design complex systems integrating hardware and software for metal industry drives.

The role requires designing hardware for VFD systems, tuning drive programs, and collaborating with customers and project teams while traveling up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree if applicable.
• 5+ years of experience with medium- to large-scale VFDs in industrial environments.
• Detailed knowledge of steel mill electrical engineering principles and drive systems.
• Ability to collaborate across multinational teams and travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware for Variable Frequency Drive systems.
• Parameterize and tune VFD programs for industrial metal technology applications.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues and coordinate with managers and customers.
