Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 7 years of post-bachelor experience
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field
• Knowledge of NESC, NEC, IEEE and ANSI standards for power systems

Responsibilities

• Participate in the engineering, design and integration of HV Substation, SVC, STATCOM projects.
• Apply advanced principles of power systems engineering and power electronics to control system voltage, improve power quality, and mitigate electrical flicker.
• Perform SVC sizing, SVC design calculations and Arc Furnace compatibility studies to evaluate feasibility of SVC systems.
• Develop comprehensive engineering packages for HV Substations, SLDs, TLDs, BOMs and equipment layouts.
• Review installation and civil drawings to ensure seamless integration with electrical system designs.
• Perform advanced power system analysis (steady state and transient) of power networks.
• Provide relay settings of substation protection equipment, TCRs, Filters and other SVC equipment.
• Perform SVC and STATCOM preventive maintenance and support during site commissioning.
• Analyze fault data to determine root cause and engineer technical resolutions during outages.
• Coordinate with proposals teams, customers and vendors to finalize technical requirements.
• Adhere to National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE/ANSI standards in designs.
