Job summary

Kraken Kinetics is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to drive the development and maturation of advanced defense products within a small, fast-moving engineering team. You will translate customer and operational needs into clear system requirements, interfaces, and verification plans while hands-on delivering in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Experience developing, decomposing, allocating, and managing technical requirements.
• Ability to translate ambiguous needs into clear engineering requirements.
• Experience with cross-disciplinary engineering in defense/aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, decompose, allocate, and maintain system-level requirements from various sources including customer needs and standards.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, firmware, test, manufacturing, and program functions to ensure clear, testable requirements.
• Maintain requirements traceability, verification matrices, and interface control documentation.
• Support system architecture development, interfaces, trade studies, and risk assessment.
• Mentor junior engineers and help mature Kraken’s systems engineering practices.
