Job summary

Kraken Kinetics seeks a Systems Engineer II/III to define, decompose, track, and verify system-level requirements for advanced defense products. This role bridges customer needs, product goals, engineering execution, test planning, and production transition.

The engineer will mature systems engineering practices by developing requirements structures, interface docs, verification matrices, and baselines to enable fast, clear cross-functional work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Computer Engineering.
• 3+ years in systems engineering, product development, requirements management or complex programs.
• Experience decomposing and managing technical requirements.
• Familiarity with traceability, interface control, verification planning, and design reviews.
• Ability to coordinate across mechanical, electrical, firmware, test, production, and program teams.

Responsibilities

• Capture, decompose, and manage system-level requirements from customer needs and standards.
• Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices, verification matrices, and interface control documents.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and actionable.
• Support architecture definition, risk assessment, and system-level decision making.
• Coordinate with test engineering to define verification methods and trace results to requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and production readiness reviews.
• Identify gaps, conflicts, and risks early and drive resolutions with stakeholders.
• Support creation of compliance documentation and verification evidence.
