Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 2 in Annapolis Junction, MD, to analyze needs, draft CONOPS, and develop system requirements using high-level architectures. The role requires coordinating with Government stakeholders and guiding design and verification activities in an Agile/DevOps setting.

The position offers flexible schedule in a contractor facility with teleworking options depending on tasking and customer approval, and includes a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• 14 years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering. Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university; five (5) years of additional SE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
• Ability to implement comprehensive SOA solutions.
• Ability to conduct end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system operations over its life cycle.
• Ability to manage the evolving configuration of a system, hardware and software, during its life.
• Ability to develop design alternatives considering life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, growth.
• Ability to maintain knowledge of current and evolving standards applicable to system development.
• Ability to recommend a preferred solution based on selection criteria.
• Ability to provide technical direction for the full systems engineering life cycle.
• Ability to fully define interfaces for software (origination, destination, stimulus, data characteristics).

Responsibilities

• Analyze users' needs, draft CONOPS, and use high-level system architectures to develop system requirements and specifications.
• Analyze system requirements, participate in design and development, and guide users in formulating requirements.
• Plan and conduct system verification activities.
• Interact with Government stakeholders regarding systems engineering considerations, risks, issues, and conflicts; communicate with program personnel and government leadership.
