Job summary

VTG in Washington, DC is seeking a Mid/Journeyman to Senior Systems Engineer to support the CPS program under the DoD. The role location is Washington Navy Yard with occasional telework.

You will engage with engineers and SMEs to design studies, assess risks, and provide technical advisement on system development and integration. The candidate should have eligible DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship, and a strong background in Electrical, Mechanical, Navigation, Guidance, and Control systems,

Qualifications

• Requires active DoD Secret clearance and US citizenship.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree with relevant engineering experience or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
• Experience in systems engineering for defense programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design studies and evaluations for R&D, production, and operations.
• Provide technical advice to CPS program on documentation submissions.
• Support risk assessments, modeling, and simulations for complex systems.
• Prepare presentations and briefings for design reviews and management reviews.
• Coordinate with CPS program office stakeholders and other offices as needed.
• Identify risks and mitigation plans for cost, schedule, and technical issues.
• Support transition of R&D into production and management of technical activities.
• Incorporate multiple engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Navigation, Guidance, and Control.
