Job summary

Alexandria Insights is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead acquisition documentation and program support in Stafford, VA. The role covers SEPs, TEMP, ISP, ECPs, and readiness reviews for major defense programs.

You will develop reports, coordinate with prime contractors, and drive test plans and safety assessments. The position requires a Master's in Systems Engineering with 10+ years of experience, DoD familiarity, leadership ability, and active DoD Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Master's in Systems Engineering or other technical discipline with 10+ years of experience.
  • DoD systems maintenance or operational experience with Air and/or Ground Combat operations systems desired.
  • Experience with SETRs and documentation is required.
  • Experience developing acquisition documentation to support programs in achieving required milestones/events is required.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of an integrated team of Government and non-Government players is required.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers is required.
  • Network Design or Network certifications a plus (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP).
  • DAWIA Engineering & Technical Management Practitioner certification or equivalent training in the Systems Engineering field is strongly desired.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent verbal communication skills; MS Office and Visio skills are required.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise appropriate level acquisition engineering documentation (e.g. SEP, TEMP, ISP).
  • Develop reports, briefs, and documentation related to programs in the portfolio.
  • Conduct technical assessment and evaluation of Prime Contractor deliverables, architectures, and ECPs.
  • Drawings review and coordination for all ECPs and vendor development programs.
  • Validation and readiness assessment of all program documentation required to submit ECPs for approval.
  • Support Engineering Team in development of ECPs and tracking of all ECPs from development to closure.
  • Develop Performance Specifications, RTMs, and assist with product and component-level specifications.
  • Support development of RFPs and RFIs.
  • Develop Technical Review Action Plans and participate in SETRs.
  • Develop ECPs and participate at CCBs.
  • Manage development and assist with test strategies, procedures, and plans.
  • Assist in planning, execution, and reporting of test events and operational evaluations.
  • Support safety efforts and PESHE documentation for safety releases.
  • Provide input to cybersecurity efforts and monitor IA vulnerability alerts.
  • Participate in technical and management IPTs.

Systems Engineer (Senior Level) – Stafford, VA

This is not a remote position

Responsibilities
  • Develop and/or revise appropriate level acquisition engineering documentation (e.g. Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), Information Support Plan (ISP))
  • Develop reports, briefs, and documentation related to programs in the portfolio
  • Conduct technical assessment and evaluation of Prime Contractor deliverables, architectures, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
  • Drawings review and coordination for all ECPs and vendor development programs
  • Validation and readiness assessment of all program documentation required to submit ECPs for approval
  • Support Engineering Team in development of ECPs and tracking of all ECPs from development to closure
  • Develop Performance Specifications, Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM), and assist with the development of product and component level specifications
  • Support development of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Information (RFIs)
  • Develop Technical Review Action Plans, and participate in all aspects of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) process
  • Develop ECPs and participate at Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
  • Manage development and assist with the development of test strategies, procedures, and plans
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and reporting of test events and operational evaluations
  • Support systems safety efforts and develop the Programmatic Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and any other required documentation to support the appropriate safety releases
  • Provide input to support cybersecurity efforts, monitor IA vulnerability alerts, and ensure appropriate security actions are taken
  • Participate in technical and management IPTs
Qualifications
  • Master's in Systems Engineering or other technical/scientific discipline, and 10+ years of experience or equivalent deep expertise in the domain
  • USMC or other DoD systems maintenance or operational experience with Air and/or Ground Combat operations systems desired
  • Experience with SETRs and documentation is required
  • Experience in developing acquisition documentation to support programs in achieving required milestones/events is required
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of an integrated team of Government and non-Government players is required
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers is required
  • Network Design or Network certifications a plus (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP)
  • DAWIA Engineering & Technical Management Practitioner certification or equivalent training in the Systems Engineering field (e.g. INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional) is strongly desired
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office and Visio skills are required
  • A proactive, self-starter with a history of demonstrating initiative
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Salary range: $120,000.00-$140,000.00
