Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Engineer to help shape Basin Catalog and Basin SQL, focusing on storage and distributed data systems. You will own features end-to-end, design data models, and optimize storage engines for scalable performance.

Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, Rust, and C++ is expected, with collaboration across teams to deliver low-latency data products suitable for a global network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in distributed systems.
• Experience building and managing high volume software applications.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OO/FP design.
• Knowledge of at least one modern strongly-typed language: Rust, TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience debugging and optimizing a large-scale distributed system.

Responsibilities

• Own your code from inception to release, delivering solutions at all layers of the stack.
• Architect global data models and storage concepts for Basin Catalog/SQL.
• Design and optimize APIs for data-centric products with performance in mind.
• Collaborate across teams and work with JavaScript, TypeScript, Rust, and C++.
