Qualifications

• You write and debug concurrent production software in Rust, Go, or C++, and can trace failures across process, network, and durable-state boundaries.
• You understand concurrency control, isolation, replication, and snapshots shaping consistency, durability, and recovery.
• You have owned a database, storage engine, transaction system, or similarly correctness-sensitive stateful system from architecture through production.
• You have operated stateful systems through rollouts, scaling events, incidents, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Improve query planning and execution, including index selection and data access patterns.
• Build transaction and storage paths that ensure durability and consistency across commits.
• Design deterministic simulations to reproduce rare failures and orderings.
• Plan stateful upgrades with staged rollouts, failover, and safe recovery.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
• Own major changes from design through production and coordinate across teams.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and debugging of concurrency and durability issues.
