Job summary
SimVentions is seeking an experienced software-focused Systems Engineer for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in Patuxent River, MD. The role encompasses acquisition, development, and sustainment of aviation programs, with active security clearances potentially required.
The position emphasizes collaboration with vendors and Agile/SAFe teams, supporting ECPs and complex system integration. This is a future-funded role, with compensation aligned to market in the defense sector.
Qualifications
- At least ten years of software and systems engineering experience.
- Experience with military aircraft avionics systems or software.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software requirements.
- Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
- Conduct analysis of software defects.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts.
- Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs).
- Support the ECP process and prepare SOWs/CDRLs.
- Develop IGCEs and support contractor evaluations.
