Job summary

Amazon's AIS team in Herndon, VA seeks an experienced engineer to help run and improve AWS infrastructure services. You will work on distributed, air-gapped environments, build automation, and ensure reliable, scalable deployments across partitions.

Ideal candidates bring strong Linux, networking, and software development skills (C/C++/Java/Python), plus TS/SCI clearance. You will thrive in a fast, collaborative environment and contribute to critical AWS services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 4+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Review deployment health across isolated regions and monitor alarms.
• Conduct code reviews for cross-partition automation fixes.
• Participate in design discussions to bring ASBX service capabilities to air-gapped environments.
• Troubleshoot deployment pipeline issues and ship fixes before end of day.
