Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Systems Engineer 3 to support AI-focused cloud and platform engineering. The role emphasizes cloud architecture, AI/ML systems, security, and data lifecycle management within government programs.

You will analyze requirements, design systems, document plans, and guide integration across teams, ensuring technical integrity and effective communication with government stakeholders and executives.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Experience in systems engineering to meet education/experience pathways.
• Ability to analyze requirements, support system design, and develop technical documentation.
• Ability to support system development, implementation planning, and systems integration and test planning.
• Ability to interact with Government stakeholders and communicate with technical and senior leadership audiences.
• Experience with cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, especially in AWS.
• Experience with AI/ML system design and implementation.
• High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle, including development, training, inference, and monitoring.
• Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps.
• Experience with system security and networking, particularly implementation of system security on classified systems.
• Experience with data engineering and data lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with varied stakeholder groups and the ability to proactively engage them to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements and develop system requirements specifications.
• Lead design and development activities.
• Guide users in formulating requirements and conduct feasibility studies.
• Provide technical leadership for integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation and system design documentation.
• Guide system development and plan via engineering management and test plans.
• Interface with Government regarding technical considerations.
• Maintain technical integrity of work and deliverables.
• Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
