Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Systems Engineer 3 to support AI-focused cloud and platform engineering efforts. The role emphasizes cloud architecture, AI/ML systems, security, and data lifecycle management across requirements, design, and documentation.

The candidate will lead design activities, develop technical documentation, and interface with government stakeholders. Strong AWS experience, ML lifecycle understanding, and clear communication with senior leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Experience in systems engineering to meet education/experience pathways.
• Ability to analyze requirements, support system design, and develop technical documentation.
• Ability to support system development, implementation planning, and systems integration and test planning.
• Ability to interact with Government stakeholders and communicate with technical and senior leadership audiences.
• Experience with cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, especially in AWS.
• Experience with AI/ML system design and implementation.
• High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring).
• Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps.
• Experience with system security and networking on classified systems.
• Experience with data engineering and data lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and high-level architectures to develop system requirements.
• Lead design and development activities.
• Guide users in formulating requirements and assess feasible approaches.
• Provide technical leadership for integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation and system design artefacts.
• Plan system engineering management and integration/test plans.
• Interface with Government on technical considerations and issues.
• Maintain technical integrity of work and deliverables in the engineering area.
• Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
