Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Systems Engineer 3 to support AI-focused cloud and platform engineering initiatives. You will apply systems engineering methods to requirements analysis, design, and integration of new capabilities into ongoing operations with emphasis on cloud architecture, AI/ML systems, security, and data lifecycle management.

The role requires active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph and demonstrated experience in cloud engineering and AI/ML system design.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
• Experience in systems engineering sufficient to meet one of the stated education/experience pathways
• Ability to analyze requirements, support system design, and develop technical documentation
• Ability to support system development, implementation planning, and systems integration and test planning
• Ability to interact with Government stakeholders and communicate with technical and senior leadership audiences
• Experience with cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, especially in AWS
• Experience with AI/ML system design and implementation
• High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle, including development, training, inference, and monitoring
• Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps
• Experience with system security and networking, particularly implementation of system security on classified systems
• Experience with data engineering and data lifecycle management
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with varied stakeholder groups and the ability to proactively engage them to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
• Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities
• Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
• Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations
• Develop technical documentation
• Develop system architecture and system design documentation
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
• Interface with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts
• Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility
• Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
