Job summary

OSARO seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to own end-to-end system performance across deployments, collaborating with Hardware, Infrastructure, and ML teams to deliver production-grade solutions in complex environments.

The role requires ownership, cross-team design of cell/system flow, and coordination with SW/HW to align workflows; travel for deployments is expected but time is limited when not in deployment.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in robotic control development with control frameworks, trajectory optimization, kinematics, and motion planning.
• Expertise in Rust or C++ with real-time, multi-process systems design.
• Hands-on experience with industrial robotic arms and low-level hardware controllers.
• Deep knowledge of robotic system design, integration, debugging, verification, and testing in real-time environments.
• Experience with sensor integration and real-time data processing (cameras, force sensors, grippers).

Job description

We are seeking a full-time Senior Systems Engineer to enhance the performance and efficiency of our deployments. You will be in charge of owning the entire end to end system level performance for our deployments. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teams across Hardware, Infrastructure, and Machine Learning to integrate robust, production-grade solutions into our customers’ complex software environments.

This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about engineering solutions that bridge advanced robotics and real-time control, take full ownership of their work, and thrive in a challenging, collaborative environment.

This role involves working closely with the solution team intentionally to design the cell/system flow, working closely with SW and HW to make sure the cell behavior matches the above workflow as well as SOW (Scope of Work). Travel to customer sites should be expected; travel time will be in conjunctions with deployments and can last several weeks at a time. However, travel time is minimal to none when not in deployment.

Experience and Skills You'll Need

• BS in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in robotic control development, including experience with:
  • Developing and tuning control frameworks for robotic applications.
  • Trajectory optimization, kinematics, and motion planning for multi-axis robots.
• Expertise in Rust or C++ with a proven ability in software design, architecture, and developing complex, real-time, multi-process systems.
• Hands-on experience with industrial robotic arms, including direct development with low-level hardware controllers.
• In-depth knowledge of robotic system design, integration, debugging, verification, and testing, particularly for industrial robotic manipulators operating in demanding, real-time environments.
• Background working with robotic sensors (e.g., cameras, force sensors, grippers) involving sensor integration, calibration, or real-time data processing.

Bonus if You Have

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

$190,000 - $230,000 a year

Actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, and experience. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits and equity.
