Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior System Development Manager to lead a new engineering function focused on safeguarding AWS customers. You will hire and grow teams, set direction, and partner across the company to deliver scalable, durable technical solutions in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation and SDLC in an API-enabled environment.
• Experience with modern programming languages incl. Rust, Java, C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale high-performing engineering teams focused on threat response, automation, and resilience.
• Own technical strategy and execution across multiple workstreams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate safety needs into sustainable technical solutions.
• Accelerate the adoption of GenAI, ML, and automation to improve detection accuracy.
• Take ownership of critical services ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, security, operations, and leadership.
• Establish engineering best practices and a culture of ownership and excellence.
• Define and track metrics to measure impact and system health.
