Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems – Level 4 to join our Propulsion Systems & Controls team at Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Elkton, MD.

You will help develop system architectures for propulsion hardware across launch vehicles and space missions. You will lead MBSE efforts, coordinate across disciplines, ensure requirements traceability, and participate in design reviews and verification planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM‑related discipline with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in engineering with at least 6 years of experience.
• PhD in engineering with at least 4 years of experience.
• Experience performing systems engineering activities on technical programs (requirements, design, integration, or test).
• Experience with requirements development and management and maintaining a requirements baseline.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical leadership and coordination between engineering disciplines, program management, and external stakeholders to ensure an integrated solution.
• Determine systems engineering tasks required for project planning and execution, communicate milestones and need dates to program leads.
• Produce and maintain key systems engineering artifacts (Requirements specifications, ICDs, V&V matrices, architecture, verification reports) in a MBSE environment.
• Define and plan testing activities with propulsion engineering, including on-site testing at Elkton or other campuses.
• Lead requirements decomposition strategy across subsystems and disciplines.
• Lead reviews (PDR, CDR) to ensure completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
• Lead Risk and Opportunity meetings for technical and programmatic teams.
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration to build consensus and effective relationships.
