Job summary

Boston Scientific in Minnesota is seeking a highly motivated Principal Systems Engineer - P5 to provide technical leadership for complex medical device systems in the Interventional Cardiology division. You will guide system architecture, requirements development, verification, validation, and risk management from concept through commercialization.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, design assurance, regulatory and clinical engineering teams to translate customer needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Experience defining system architectures for complex multidisciplinary systems.
• Proficiency in requirements engineering and traceability.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and system-level expertise for design, development, integration, and commercialization of complex medical device systems.
• Lead cross-functional technical decision-making and secure agreement across engineering, management, and leadership.
• Define and evolve system architecture, including functional/physical architectures and interfaces.
• Lead end-to-end system integration across hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, optical, and disposable subsystems.
• Drive Systems Engineering best practices across projects including lifecycle traceability.
• Translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear system requirements and ensure traceability.
• Conduct system-level trade studies to optimize performance and reduce risk.
• Manage technical execution, troubleshoot integration issues, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Develop analytical methods and modeling to solve complex engineering problems.
• Mentor engineers and advance Systems Engineering methodologies.
