Job summary

Pacific Life in Newport Beach, CA seeks a Senior Systems Analyst I to support customer communications for annuity and life products on CCM platforms. The role sits on a 16‑person CMD team, collaborates with analysts, developers, QA, and business partners, and operates in a 4‑day in‑office/1‑day remote hybrid model.

Key responsibilities include gathering and validating requirements, refining backlogs, creating user stories, and ensuring traceability across the SDLC within Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst.
• Experience with Agile delivery teams, backlog refinement, sprint planning, user story development, and acceptance criteria.
• Hands‑on experience using Azure DevOps to manage requirements, user stories, defects, testing activities, and delivery tracking.
• Experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Experience supporting production applications, incident management, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, testing practices, and change management.
• Experience creating business process flows, use cases, user stories, functional specifications, and test scenarios.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather, document, analyze, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Support Agile product teams by refining backlogs, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, facilitating requirement discussions, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
• Utilize Azure DevOps to manage requirements, user stories, defects, testing activities, and delivery tracking while maintaining traceability.
• Support production operations through incident triage, defect management, root cause investigation, and coordination of issue resolutions.
• Analyze business processes and system functionality to identify gaps and develop scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and vendor teams to support releases, system upgrades, maintenance, and modernization initiatives.
