Job summary

RedBeard Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced Level 2 Systems Administrator to support a government client's IT infrastructure in the Ft. Meade, MD area. The role focuses on UNIX/Linux and Windows environments, network components, and day-to-day operational reliability.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize enterprise systems, handle Tier 1 and Tier 2 tickets, and work with security-clearance requirements (TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph adjudicated in Maryland).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant systems administration experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph adjudicated in Maryland.
• Hands-on UNIX/Linux and Windows Server experience.
• Experience with network administration, Active Directory, and firewall configuration.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems across client/server/storage/network/mobile device environments
• Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
• Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems, including day-to-day monitoring and issue resolution
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems; install/load OS software; troubleshoot and maintain system integrity
• Configure network components and implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform system capacity analysis and planning
• Provide detailed analysis and status updates to management and internal customers on escalated tickets
• Support the dispatch process for hardware issues and stay engaged through resolution
• Assist end users in accessing and using IT systems effectively
