Job summary
UTHealth Houston is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the Database & Application Support team within the Data Center Operations division. You will manage UNIX/Linux and Windows servers, provide cloud operational support across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and support CMS-driven applications, automation, and BI tooling.
Candidate should have strong server administration skills, experience with scripting (Bash/PowerShell), and familiarity with ASP/Apache/IIS stacks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in information technology or related field.
- Experience with Windows and UNIX/Linux server administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with CMS and web servers such as IIS, Tomcat, Apache; SSL certificates.
Responsibilities
- Maintain system stability, reliability, and security.
- Install, configure, and upgrade UNIX/Linux servers; ensure security and encrypted remote access.
- Plan and test backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor performance and SLAs; support automation and integrations.
- Collaborate with vendors and application owners to optimize systems.
