Job summary

Health Center Inc. is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to manage datacenter, server, and cloud environments. The role focuses on deploying and supporting server infrastructure, virtualization (VMware), and cloud platforms like Azure to ensure uptime and security for healthcare systems.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years in a similar role, strong Windows/Linux server skills, and experience with EHR/PACS in healthcare settings, plus relevant certifications and scripting capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience in healthcare operations maintaining EHR and PACS.
• MCSE or CompTIA Server+ preferred; 3-5 years virtualization with VMware and Windows Server.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or Python; Windows and Linux servers; cloud (Azure) familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain secure, reliable and compliant IT operations for healthcare systems.
• Support infrastructure underpinning Cerner EHR and clinical systems.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to understand IT needs and provide guidance.
• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform regular security audits and patching.
• Develop and implement server policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with network engineers and other IT staff.
• Assist with server backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Analyze system logs and identify potential issues.
• Ensure licensing and regulatory compliance.
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation and diagrams.
• Plan and execute server upgrades and migrations.
• Ensure server availability, performance, and scalability.
• Implement virtualization and cloud environments (VMware, Azure).
• Conduct capacity planning and resource optimization.
