Job summary

RTX's Principal System Administrator role is onsite across multiple DoD environments, requiring an active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

You will design, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux systems, VMware virtualization, and 24x7 operations in a secure, high‑reliability setting. You will work with AD/GP, MECM/SCCM imaging, PowerShell automation, and security hardening (STIG/SCAP), collaborating with Cyber Security, DevSecOps, Networking and Storage teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain secret clearance; interim clearance required.
• Experience administering Windows and RHEL servers.
• Experience with VMware virtualization.
• Experience with system hardening and securing configurations.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Systems Administrator supporting Linux and Windows environments, design, implement, patch, and troubleshoot across 24x7x365.
• Patch, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities (STIG/SCAP) with Cyber Security teams.
• Design, deploy, and maintain VMware ESXi/vCenter environments and VM lifecycle management.
• Engineer imaging, deployment, and automation using MECM/SCCM, PXE, Windows imaging, and PowerShell.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and secure configurations.
• Collaborate across Digital Technology, Engineering, Cyber Security, DevSecOps, Networking, Storage to resolve complex issues.
• Support on-site DoD closed-area environment with occasional after-hours and up to 10% travel.
