Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a mid‑level IT Systems Administrator to join the Cyber and Intelligence division. You will provide advanced desktop support for end‑user computing, ensuring secure, reliable workstations and productivity tools for a government program launching in early 2026.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, 5+ years of desktop administration, and experience with Windows endpoints, Citrix ZenDesktop, MECM/SCCM, and security baselines.

Qualifications

This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats.

Summary

HII’s Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting‑edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives. This position is part of our Cyber and Intelligence division, which plays a critical role in supporting Enterprise‑Level Security and Modernization efforts across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical facilities, and personnel operations. The selected candidate will contribute to a high‑impact government program focused on enhancing and securing mission‑critical systems and environments. The program is scheduled to launch in early 2026 and, due to the classified nature of the mission and the sensitivity of the operational environment, an active TS/SCI security clearance will be required. This role is responsible for providing technical support in the organization’s end‑user computing environment. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of technical issues. In addition to hands‑on troubleshooting, this role assists with maintaining system security, supporting hardware and software lifecycles, and ensuring reliable day‑to‑day operation of end‑user technology.

What You Will Do

You will provide advanced desktop support and hands‑on troubleshooting for end‑user computing environments, ensuring users have reliable, secure, and well‑functioning workstations, peripherals, and productivity tools. In this role, you apply mid‑to senior‑level expertise to diagnose complex issues, support hardware and software lifecycles, and maintain a high‑quality user experience across the organization. Key responsibilities include resolving escalated service desk tickets, performing workstation deployments and configurations, and supporting operating system and application updates. You will troubleshoot Windows and Citrix issues; configure and maintain endpoint security tools; and support peripheral devices, network connectivity, and user authentication problems. You may also participate in hardware lifecycle planning, software packaging and distribution, and documentation of support procedures. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvements, assist with inventory accuracy, mentor junior technicians, and ensure end‑user computing systems remain stable, secure, and aligned with organizational policies and operational needs.

What We Are Looking For

5+ years progressively responsible IT desktop administrator experience.

• Deploying and managing Windows or ThinLinux end‑client solutions
• Providing support to a variety of EUC platforms and applications such as thick, thin, and zero clients with Citrix Zendesktop, appV, and Windows Terminal Services
• Installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Microsoft and third‑party applications
• Patching operating systems and applications via MECM/SCCM, to include research, testing, installation, troubleshooting and rollback.
• Applying and maintaining a standard security configuration based on SRGs and STIGs

Level Qualifications

Active TS/SCI government security clearance required to start.

Systems Administrator 1: High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years relevant experience.

Systems Administrator 2: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.

Systems Administrator 3: 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 5 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

Systems Administrator 4: 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
