Job summary

Palmetto in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to lead the Core Systems ecosystem. You will manage SaaS apps, architect integrations with APIs and middleware, own identity management, and mentor junior engineers while shaping IT strategy.

This cloud-first role focuses on scaling our SaaS environment, improving security and compliance, and accelerating AI-powered IT initiatives across the organization to automate workflows and streamline onboarding and offboarding.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of experience in Systems Administration, IT Engineering, or similar.
• Hands-on SaaS administration and ecosystem management.
• Experience with API integrations and middleware (Tray.io or similar).
• Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management).
• Experience with ITSM workflows and identity management (SSO, SAML, SCIM).
• Familiarity with SOX, SOC 2 and other compliance frameworks.
• Automation and AI-driven tool experience a strong plus.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary administrator and technical owner for key business systems.
• Architect and lead core systems projects to improve business operations.
• Architect integrations via APIs and middleware for scalable platforms.
• Drive automation in onboarding/offboarding, and support workflows.
• Support security, compliance, and governance initiatives.
• Mentor junior staff and lead IT-related AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with leaders to drive change management and service delivery.
