Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a senior leader in energy management to oversee complex, system-wide projects across its facilities portfolio. You will collaborate with Facility Management, Design and Construction to drive design, commissioning, operations, and maintenance aimed at cost reduction and performance improvement.

Strong experience in HVAC, utilities, and energy efficiency, plus a PE license, is required. Travel across the Intermountain system is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings.
• Demonstrated extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment (boilers, chillers, pumps, towers, AHU, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for concise decision-making.
• Experience managing multiple projects with internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Independent project management of large-size projects.
• Develops system level strategy and direction.
• Mentors other team members to increase their skill and knowledge.
• Handles all aspects of energy/facility project management including scope, design, budget, contracts, implementation, verification, and utility incentives.
• May directly manage others on the energy team.
• Develops and utilizes standard metrics to assess energy and water conservation effectiveness.
• Collaborates with design engineers, project managers, and commissioning agents to implement projects and energy optimization measures.
• Trains facility management staff and leaders on energy conservation and maintenance impact on consumption and equipment life.
• Creates standards and guidelines for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; reviews design documents; leads commissioning/recommissioning.
