Our client are seeking a Senior Energy Solutions Development Engineer to join their leading organization in the energy and building‑infrastructure space. This role is ideal for a senior‑level mechanical engineer who is an expert in central heating and cooling plants, CHP systems, and large‑scale mechanical infrastructure. You will play a key role in evaluating facility performance, identifying energy‑saving opportunities, and designing high‑impact technical solutions that reduce cost, improve efficiency, and support long‑term sustainability goals.
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with customers, influence major project decisions, and serve as a technical authority within the organization. The role includes approximately 30% travel and offers a flexible/remote work structure.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience with central heating/cooling plants and CHP systems
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, hydronics, steam systems, turbines, and distribution networks
- Proven experience performing heat balance, hydraulic analysis, and plant performance modeling
- Ability to design sequences of operation for central plants and CHP systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong communication skills and ability to present to all organizational levels
Preferred Background
- Experience in Public, Federal, or Commercial/Industrial markets
- Experience with retrofit, optimization, and new plant design projects
- Familiarity with energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability initiatives
