Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices is seeking a Lead System Validation Engineer - AI Rack Validation to drive system and silicon validation for AMD EPYC Server & Instinct products. You will lead post-silicon validation, develop validation strategies, and collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure high-quality, scalable validation processes.

You will mentor engineers, define test plans across CPUs, GPUs, memory, BIOS, and platform firmware, and influence decision-making in a high-visibility role

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in validation roles involving debugging OS, FW, Silicon, and HW issues.
• Understanding of industry standard buses and their software stack such as PCIe and CXL.
• Strong knowledge of X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS & power management.
• Extensive knowledge of system architecture, debugging and validation strategy.
• Experience in platform/system level debug, OS drivers and BIOS interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level, rack-level, and cluster-scale validation strategy for AI and machine learning server platforms.
• Define and drive validation plans across scale-up and scale-out environments.
• Develop validation methodologies spanning CPU, GPU, memory, BIOS, BMC, networking, storage, firmware, OS, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with architecture, hardware, firmware, software, and platform engineers to define requirements and improve quality.
• Lead investigation and root cause analysis of complex hardware, firmware, software, networking, and system issues.
• Drive technical decision-making within the validation organization and influence cross-functional teams.
• Define scalable validation frameworks, automation, telemetry workflows, and data-driven methods.
• Analyze large-scale validation data to identify systemic failures and readiness concerns.
• Establish readiness criteria and metrics to improve execution efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and improve validation methodologies and debugging effectiveness.
• Manage multiple validation programs, priorities, schedules, and risks.
• Communicate validation status and risks to senior leadership.
• Support customer-focused validation by representing real-world deployment conditions.
