Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a System Test Automation Engineer with deep systems knowledge to build scalable automated quality frameworks and validate distributed software systems.

You will partner with development, architecture, and platform teams to embed quality early in the lifecycle, design robust test infrastructures, and use data-driven insights to prevent defects and improve observability.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in Test Engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or C++ (at least one at production depth).
• Proven experience building automation frameworks, not just test scripts.
• Solid understanding of Linux/UNIX fundamentals (processes, memory, networking).
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and version control (Git-based workflows).
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with ability to break down complex system behaviors.
• Ability to apply data-driven analysis to identify trends and regressions, and influence engineering decisions.
• Deep understanding of system-level testing concepts: regression, longevity, fault injection, scale and performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain system-level test automation frameworks for complex software platforms.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation.
• Own test infrastructure, frameworks, and tooling - not just individual test cases.
• Build and execute regression, scale, stress, soak, and fault-injection tests.
• Validate system behavior under real-world conditions including high load and degraded states.
• Diagnose failures by clearly distinguishing test issues from product defects.
