Job summary

Bastion in Pasadena, California seeks a System Safety Engineer, Subject Matter Expert to support multiple projects focused on system safety requirements and hazard analyses.

You will develop PHL, PHA, FHA, SHA, and SAR documents, participate in design reviews and safety meetings, and coordinate with test range safety teams. Occasional travel may be required; a Top-Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and a Top-Secret clearance are required.
• Experience in system safety working groups (SSWG, WSESRB, SSSTRP) is essential.
• Ability to build and communicate a safety case for redesign or risk acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hardware and software to ensure mission success.
• Develop and/or update PHL, PHA, FHA, SHA, and SAR documents.
• Prepare presentations and participate in design reviews and safety meetings.
• Support development/maintenance of System Safety documents per customer and contractual requirements.
• Review test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements.
