Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, FL, is seeking a Senior Specialist, System Safety Engineer to provide technical leadership across Airborne Solutions programs. You will lead hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety program planning, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires DO-178/DO-254 awareness and experience with safety artifacts in DOORS/Cameo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; graduate degree adds 4 years.
• In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of related experience.
• Active DoD clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard analyses and safety risk assessments per MIL-STD-882E, ARP4754A, ARP4761.
• Develop System Safety Program Plans and Safety Assessment Reports.
• Lead and present safety risk assessments at customer design reviews.
• Interface with hardware, software, and operation requirements to ensure safety integration.
• Travel to customer sites and support DoD customers; obtain security clearance.
