Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Level 3/4 Systems Safety Engineer for the AISR&T program in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The role applies safety engineering across the lifecycle to identify, assess, and mitigate hazards and to verify safety requirements against design and test evidence.

The position requires strong systems engineering experience, the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safety is embedded in design decisions.

Competenze

• Experience in systems engineering and/or systems safety engineering on complex systems.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher.

Mansioni

• Perform system safety engineering activities across the lifecycle: hazard identification, analysis, tracking, and mitigation.
• Develop and maintain safety requirements for system/subsystems and ensure proper allocation, implementation, and verification.
• Conduct safety analyses such as PHA, FHA, SSA, FMEA/FMECA, and FTA.
• Plan and execute safety validation activities with defined acceptance criteria and data.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, integration/test, and reliability teams to integrate safety into design decisions and verification.
• Prepare safety artifacts (hazard logs, safety assessments, safety case/evidence) for reviews and customer deliverables; present findings.
