Job summary

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, seeks a System Safety Engineer to develop MIL-STD-882E safety programs and perform hazard analyses for Goleta, CA. This onsite role collaborates across disciplines to ensure safety from startup to disposal.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, prepare reports, and support safety reviews while leveraging DoD standards and HSI practices to protect people and assets in complex systems.

Qualifications

• This role requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with System Safety Engineering and software safety engineering.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-882 and DoD practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs and analyses.
• Conduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with customer safety reps and safety boards to gain approvals.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to implement safety controls.
• Prepare internal and customer-facing safety reports and briefings.
