Job summary

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance at the required level.
• Education must include ABET-accredited engineering program for engineering roles; non-accredited degrees may not qualify.
• For engineering/computer science roles, degrees must be in recognized ABET programs and aligned with position requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform system safety engineering tasks and conduct risk assessments to ensure safety of procured systems.
• Assist in developing and reviewing system safety plans and hazard analyses per MIL-STD-882, AFI 91-202, and AFMC supplements.
• Establish hazard tracking logs and monitor risks to close out hazards.
• Support mishap investigations and report findings to Air Force Safety Center.
• Attend safety group meetings, co-chair with AF chief engineer and prime contractor rep.
• Evaluate ECPs/CCPs/TO modifications for hazard analyses and airworthiness documentation.
• Identify safety non-compliances related to OSS&E and airworthiness, update AF Safety data.
