Job summary

COLSA Corporation in Warner Robins, GA seeks a senior engineering professional to execute and oversee system safety, airworthiness, and risk assessment activities across USAF programs. The role involves applying MIL-STD-882, AFI 91-202, and related safety standards to ensure safe-to-operate weapon systems and subsystems.

The candidate must hold an ABET-accredited engineering degree with a Master’s, have DoD experience, and be eligible for security clearance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree plus a Master’s degree in engineering.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance.
• Minimum 12 years of related experience, with 5+ years in DoD programs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply AFPD 62-6, USAF Airworthiness through standardized processes.
• Understand and apply MIL-HDBK-516C Airworthiness Criteria to aircraft systems.
• Accomplish system safety engineering tasks including risk assessment.
• Assist in the system safety program to ensure safe-to-operate and maintain systems.
• Review and assist with system safety program plans, hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
