Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to shape safety strategy across multiple programs. You will lead complex analyses (FHA/FTA/SCFTA/FMECA), craft safety requirements, and work with design teams to implement safety across multi-system architectures.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, risk mitigation, and leading PDR/CDR/MRR reviews, while ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-882E and related standards. A U.S. security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in System Safety or equivalent engineering background
• Experience with safety-critical hardware and software in defense/aerospace
• Strong knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and related standards
• Experience establishing System Safety framework for a product/program
• Proven skills in FTA, FHA, SCFTA, FMECA
• Experience with Safety requirements decomposition and hazard analysis
• Design reviews (PDR/CDR/MRR) and leadership presence
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement System Safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E
• Perform and review complex safety analyses (FHA, FTA, SCFTA, FMECA)
• Create safety requirements and collaborate with design teams
• Identify hazards and manage risk mitigation strategies
• Support Design Requirements Process as Safety SME
• Support milestone reviews (PDR/CDR/MRR)
• Lead corrective actions from RCCA investigations and Mishap Reports
• Host corrective action reviews and ensure timely closure
• Draft and implement System Safety processes to improve manufacturing/deployment
• Verify and validate risk and hazard reduction measures
• Liaise with customers, regulators, and stakeholders on safety matters
• Drive continuous improvement in System Safety processes
• Ensure compliance with military/industry safety standards
