Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a System Safety Engineer to drive system-level safety decisions across our defense portfolio, applying MIL-STD-882E and performing FHA, FTA, SCFTA, and FMECA analyses. You will collaborate with Reliability, Systems Engineering, and Hardware & Software teams to develop safety requirements and lead hazard investigations.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, a B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a System Safety Engineer or equivalent in defense/aerospace.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882E and safety standards.
• Proficient in FTA, FHA, SCFTA, and FMECA analysis.
• Ability to decompose safety requirements for complex systems.
• Proven failure investigation and corrective action leadership.
• Design review experience (PDR/CDR/MRR) and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Execute system safety plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and program requirements.
• Conduct FHA/FTA/SCFTA/FMECA analyses at system and subsystem levels.
• Develop safety requirements and collaborate with design teams.
• Identify hazards, document risks, and track mitigation.
• Support requirements process and milestone reviews for safety.
• Lead RCCA investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Verify risk reductions and engage stakeholders and regulators as needed.
• Promote continuous improvement of system safety processes.
