Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a System Safety Engineer to drive system-level safety decisions across multiple platforms, applying FHA/FTA/SCFTA/FMECA techniques and leading complex investigations. You will collaborate with Reliability, Systems Engineering, and Hardware/Software teams to ensure mission-ready products.

The role requires a B.S. in a technical field, 5+ years of experience, and eligibility to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a System Safety Engineer or equivalent engineering background.
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering or equivalent.
Experience with safety-critical hardware and software in defense/aerospace.
Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E and other safety standards.
Strong safety analysis skills: FTA, FHA, SCFTA, FMECA.
Requirements decomposition for Safety.
Failure investigation/analysis with problem-solving track record.
PDR/CDR/MRR design review experience and presentation skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

Execute System Safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and program requirements.
Conduct FHA, FTA, SCFTA, FMECA analyses at system and sub-system levels.
Develop safety requirements and guide design teams.
Identify hazards, manage risk, and document mitigations.
Support safety in development milestones (PDR, CDR, MRR).
Lead RCCA investigations and Mishap reports actions.
Verify risk reductions and liaise with stakeholders and regulators.
