Job summary
ECO Event Management Integrate & Sustain: Site Reliability is seeking a senior System Engineer to drive monitoring and observability efforts. You will partner with the IST/System Engineering Team to analyze HPIs/CPIs and translate findings into actionable changes that boost VA infrastructure reliability.
You will lead incident resolution, work with DevOps and system owners, and leverage tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, and SolarWinds to improve service quality for veterans in a multi-environment
Qualifications
- Deep expertise (3+ years) in two or more troubleshooting tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, SolarWinds, ServiceNow Operator Workspace)
- Extensive experience in IT infrastructure areas (Network, Windows, Unix/Linux, AWS/Azure, databases)
- 8+ years of experience with IT operability, reliability, app performance, and code quality
- 8+ years of deploying and troubleshooting enterprise applications
- 1+ years leading a technical team
- HS diploma/GED with 20+ years or MA/MS with 10+ years in engineering/tech
Responsibilities
- Analyze monitoring data to identify reliability gaps and actionable improvements
- Lead enterprise-level triage and incident resolution with cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with DevOps, IAM, and application owners to diagnose outages and recommend changes
- Work with administrators to strengthen VA infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools
