Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector seeks a Lead System Engineer for a U.S. Government project in the Washington, DC metro area.

The role focuses on design, deployment, operation and maintenance of mission-critical systems across Linux, Windows, and mixed virtual environments. The candidate will collaborate with a matrixed team of voice, network and systems engineers, handling patching, security baselines, automation and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of enterprise system engineering experience, including design, configuration and maintenance.
• Experience administering Linux and Windows environments.
• Familiar with CIS/STIG security baselines and hardening.
• Proficient in scripting/automation to support routine tasks.
• Ability to document systems, processes and installation steps.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of engineers to deploy, configure, maintain and operate mission application systems in physical and virtual environments.
• Interact with customers, engineering resources and vendors to implement and maintain services.
• Monitor logs, performance and security; troubleshoot issues and implement fixes.
• Develop automation scripts and dashboards for system tasks and reporting.
• Maintain backups and disaster recovery procedures; contribute to system documentation.
