Job summary

AT&T National Security seeks a Lead System Engineer for a deterministic, on-site role servicing a U.S. Government customer in the Washington DC metro area.

You will design, install, operate, and maintain mission systems across multi‑platform environments, collaborating with voice, network, and systems engineers to deliver customer-focused solutions. The role requires a TS/SCI with poly, strong Linux/Windows admin skills, and experience with security baselines, lifecycle management, and disaster

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications or similar with flexible education based on experience.
• 5–10 years of enterprise system design, configuration, implementation and maintenance.
• Experience with Linux and Windows administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong TCP/IP knowledge, network troubleshooting and security baselines (CIS/STIG).
• Experience documenting designs, guides, test plans and troubleshooting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with system engineers to deploy, configure and operate mission systems.
• Maintain Linux and Windows systems in physical and virtual environments.
• Manage system life cycle activities including planning, design, implementation and migration.
• Install patches and upgrades for OS, databases and applications; service hardware.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues, document resolutions and assess impact.
• Monitor logs for performance/security, produce dashboards and reports.
• Develop scripts/automation for routine tasks and data collection.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans and failover procedures.
• Create technical docs for system administration and maintenance.
• Ensure system security hardening and compliance with customer standards.
