Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: New Haven, CT

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AIX, Unix, and Linux environments. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our systems infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage AIX, Unix, and Linux systems.
  • Perform system installations, upgrades, and patches to ensure system stability and security.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Develop and implement system backup and recovery procedures.
  • Automate routine tasks and manage system configuration using scripting languages.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and end-users.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience with AIX, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of system administration, including user management, system security, and network configuration.
  • Experience with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Perl, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and containerization (e.g., VMware, Docker).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
