Candidtalent is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the architecture of Manufacturing Intelligence solutions in North Louisiana. You will shape how Ignition integrates with historians, MES, ERP and PLCs, set enterprise standards and govern REST APIs, OPC UA and MQTT, and guide data architecture for analytics and reporting.
You will establish reusable patterns, define quality standards, and mentor junior architects while collaborating with customer IT and cybersecurity teams.
Location: North Louisiana office preferred, relocation is available
Salary: $120,000 + depending on experience, plus a year-end profit share.
Schedule: Full-time, permanent, with travel to client sites.
If you have a strong background in Ignition, industrial data architecture and system integration, this is an opportunity to lead Manufacturing Intelligence projects at a specialist integrator.
The company is a vendor-independent automation and manufacturing intelligence integrator, working with industrial clients since the mid-1990s. They are an Inductive Automation Premier Integrator, the platform’s top partner tier, and have developed and sell their own manufacturing execution system (MES), built natively on Ignition.
They are expanding their Manufacturing Intelligence team and looking for a Systems Engineerto take ownership of architecture across multiple projects. This is a senior technical leadership position focused on defining how solutions are designed, integrated and governed, rather than simply building applications to an existing specification.
What you'll do
You will lead the architecture of Manufacturing Intelligence solutions, translating business and functional requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable technical designs.
That means defining how Ignition integrates with historians, MES, ERP systems and the PLCs underneath, establishing enterprise integration and data architecture standards, and governing technologies such as REST APIs, OPC UA and MQTT.
You will guide database architecture and information management to support analytics and reporting, while reviewing designs across projects to ensure consistency and long-term maintainability.
Beyond individual projects, you will establish reusable architecture patterns, define technical quality standards and guide expectations around CI/CD, automated testing and deployment practices. You will work directly with customer IT, engineering and cybersecurity teams, present recommendations during architecture reviews, and act as a trusted technical advisor.
You will also mentor Architects I and specialist engineers, help develop technical best practices across the team, and contribute to hiring and workforce planning.
