Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Senior System Analyst for MassHealth MMIS in Quincy, MA (Hybrid). The role focuses on AWS-based system administration, WebLogic/J2EE, and cloud-native re-architecture initiatives.

The position reports to MMIS Technical Manager and is contract through 6/30/27 with potential extension. Responsibilities include building a POC, configuring RHEL on AWS EC2, Oracle RDS support, and DevOps practices with scripting and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, IT with 15+ years’ experience, or equivalent in healthcare administration setting.
• Experience managing enterprise-level applications and AWS cloud services.
• Hands-on with RHEL administration and WebLogic servers.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in AWS cloud environments (EC2 instances).
• Administer and troubleshoot Java/J2EE applications deployed on WebLogic application servers, including JDBC sources and JVM performance.
• Provide system-level support for Oracle RDS with DBA collaboration for performance, backup, and recovery.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security using tools like Dynatrace and CloudWatch; implement robust troubleshooting.
• Build a Proof of Concept (POC) to migrate legacy Java/J2EE app to cloud-native AWS services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3).
• Automate routine tasks using Shell, Python, Jython, WLST; improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with development and testing to ensure smooth software delivery and knowledge sharing.
