Job summary

Kentucky Blood Center, Inc. is seeking a Senior System Administrator III to lead the server and virtual environments, monitor performance, and drive IT initiatives. This on-site role reports to the VPIT and requires strong leadership, security, and disaster recovery focus.

You will mentor team members, coordinate deployments, manage Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and backups, and partner with stakeholders to ensure reliable IT services across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of progressive, relevant experience administering systems, applications, and servers.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office, Adobe, web applications, and custom systems.
• Applicable knowledge of scripting languages.
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks and system security techniques.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must operate as a subject matter expert, with demonstrated skills in training, delegating tasks, and mentoring other team members.
• Ability to organize and manage workload, and to work a flexible schedule, to include on-call rotation for IT coverage after hours and on weekends.
• Valid KY driver's license with clean driving record; requires periodic travel to satellite locations.
• Proof of education/certifications required during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall operations of the server and virtual environments, monitoring resources and applying changes.
• Serve as IT Project Team Lead on server/system initiatives.
• Train and mentor other department team members.
• Provide user support and fulfill help desk functions as needed.
• Develop, analyze and provide reports for VPIT on workflow and challenges.
• Maintain SOPs and assist with documentation; participate in budget discussions for architecture improvements.
