The Senior System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, designing, migrating, and upgrading system configurations across our diverse IT environment. This includes managing Windows servers, VMware ESXI, Azure platform, and other critical components. This role demands a deep understanding of systems administration, virtualization, and cloud technologies to ensure optimal performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure, implement, and maintain Windows servers across multiple sites.
- Design, install, configure, implement, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) cloud service.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange on-premises, M365, and MS Intune.
- Understand backups, recovery, and system upgrades.
- Work on Windows Server 2016 to 2022 roles and features.
- Understand RDS CAL service.
- Administer VMware ESXI infrastructure, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Manage Azure cloud resources and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, security, and scalability.
- Implement and manage Azure Virtual Desktop and Horizon VDI components.
- Possess working knowledge of Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) such as Nutanix, VxRail, Azure Stack, etc.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory Domain Controller, including users, groups, OUs, and permissions.
- Manage all Windows Server services like DNS, DHCP, WSUS, FTP, SFTP, WDS.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot Group Policies to enforce security and operational standards.
- Handle tasks using tools like AD Manager, AD Audit, AD Sync, etc.
- Perform health checks on AD and related services.
- Implement and manage Certificate Authority infrastructure.
- Maintain and administer Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security.
- Have a general understanding of networking core concepts and participate in resolving related issues.
- Monitor system logs and alerts regularly to ensure system health and security.
- Maintain Privileged Access Management (PAM) and understand its core components.
- Address vulnerability remediation for Windows Server OS, services, Nutanix, VMware, etc.
Who you are:
- 5 to 7 years of prior experience in an IT support role.
- Strong working knowledge of PowerShell scripting or other automation tools.
- Understanding of core cloud services like O365, MS Teams, Azure AD, SharePoint.
- Excellent knowledge of server administration, patch management, and OS-specific debugging tools.
- Good understanding of monitoring systems such as PRTG, SCOM, SolarWinds.
- Provide technical hands-on support at a Level 3 (L3) for incident and request management, including resolution of escalated incidents, problems, or changes from Level 1 (L1) support.
- Responsible for problem management and root cause analysis for repeated incidents or outages.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and tools like ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, SCSM, ManageEngine, etc.
- Support on-call, including out-of-office hours, emergencies, and routine maintenance windows.
- Provide technical support, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Collaborate with other departments and vendors for system integration and upgrades.
- Document procedures, configurations, and instructional guides for the team.
