Responsibilities
- The Tools Specialist should have experience with and knowledge of SolarWinds, ensuring the performance and reliability of the SolarWinds infrastructure, and be instrumental in network monitoring, fault detection, and resource utilization analysis.
- Proficient in customizing SolarWinds dashboards, alerts, and reports to meet organizational needs.
- Evaluate existing design details, validate information, and update systems working with system owners, product managers, and technical support teams to ensure accurate data in the Monitoring Service Registry (MSR).
- Analyze user requests and requirements to develop monitoring strategies and apply appropriate tools.
- Transform customer feedback into visualizations using agile methodologies for iterative design improvements.
- Update and maintain the Monitoring Service Registry (MSR) with new systems and designs.
- Coordinate among various teams, including Health BLM, product owners, and enterprise operations, to support decision-making and resolve issues.
- Instrument the design solutions with the authorized toolset as required.
Qualifications
- Experience assessing data management products, tools, and impacts on systems and business transactions.
- High-level SolarWinds administration capabilities.
- Knowledge of Windows Server OS and server administration.
- Functional knowledge of SolarWinds query language.
- Experience in analysis, interface design, rapid prototyping, testing, and user-centered design processes.
- Experience establishing standards and practices.
- Experience installing tools and creating dashboards for users and executives.
- Familiarity with VA's product portfolio and human factor engineering.
- Healthcare IT background and experience with enterprise command and control operations are highly desirable.
- Understanding of application, infrastructure, and interface performance.
- Experience translating program requirements into enterprise strategies for high-volume, high-availability applications and networks.
- Ability to design user interfaces that present actionable data in a user-friendly manner.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and Sprint processes is highly desirable.
Education & Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Ability to pass a Tier 2/Moderate Background Investigation.
Location & Compensation
- Remote, USA
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST, with shift adjustments on upgrade weeks.
- Salary range: $61,730 to $68,500, based on skills and experience.
